RESOLUTION NO. 2020.053
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
AWARDING A CONTRACT TO ARAMEXX GROUP, INC. IN THE
AMOUNT OF $326,434.80 FOR A SINGLE SANBORN AVENUE AND
MULFORD AVENUE PARKING LOTS IMPROVEMENT PROJECT AND
AUTHORIZING AN APPROPRIATION IN THE AMOUNT OF $107,635
FROM LEASE REVENUE BOND FOR THE SANBORN AVENUE AND
MULFORD AVENUE PARKING LOTS IMPROVEMENT PROJECT;
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE THE AGREEMENT.
WHEREAS, the Sanborn Avenue and Mulford Avenue Parking Lots Improvement
Project consists of parking lot resurfacing, partial replacement of concrete sidewalks,
installation and application of traffic signing and striping, installation of lights, pull boxes,
conduit, service meters, landscaping and irrigation; and
WHEREAS, the Sanborn Avenue and Mulford Avenue Parking lots are located in
near proximity to each other in the City, and generally located north of 1-105 east of Long
Beach Boulevard, between Long Beach Boulevard and California Avenue, along each
respective street Sanborn and Mulford; and
WHEREAS, on March 24, 2020, a Notice Inviting Bids for the project was
advertised in the Daily Journal, Bid America, on the City's web site using PlanetBids; and
WHEREAS, the bid opening took place in the PlanetBids Platform on Thursday,
April 9, 2020 at 10:00 A.M. (Pacific Time); and
WHEREAS, a total of six (6) bid proposals were received; and
WHEREAS, Aramexx Group, Inc. is the lowest responsible bidder; and
WHEREAS, on March 17, 2020, the City Council appropriated funding for the
parking lot projects through Lease Revenue Bond; and
WHEREAS, it is the intent in carrying out this project that both parking lots are
combined as a single capital improvement project.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES
HEREBY FIND, PROCLAIM, ORDER, AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute the agreement
between the City of Lynwood and Aramexx Group, Inc. for Sanborn Avenue and Mulford
Avenue Parking Lots Improvement Project (CIP No. 4011.68.081) in the amount of
$326,434.80.

Section 2. That the City Council approves the following budget adjustments
and appropriation:

Section 3. The City Council authorizes the City Manager under LMC 6-3.15(d)
to exceed the specific dollar amounts or percentage limitations under LMC 6-3.15(a)
and authorizes the City Manager to approve modifications and change orders related to
the Project up to the available Project Budgets.
Section 4. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
Section 5. The City Clerk shall certify as to the adoption of this City Council
Resolution.
PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City Council
of the City of Lynwood, California, this 21St day of April, 2020
