RESOLUTION NO. 2020.032
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
ACCEPTING LONG BEACH BOULEVARD PHASE 2 IMPROVEMENT
PROJECT (CIP NO. 4011.67.997) AS COMPLETE; AUTHORIZING THE
FILING OF THE NOTICE OF COMPLETION WITH THE LOS ANGELES
COUNTY RECORDER'S OFFICE AND THE RELEASE OF THE 5%
RETENTION 35 DAYS AFTER THE RECORDATION.
WHEREAS, on February 21, 2017, the City awarded the contract to the lowest
responsible bidder, Palp, Inc. Dba Excel Paving Company, in the amount of $3,128,879
for the construction of the Project; and
WHEREAS, the construction of the Long Beach Blvd Phase 2 Improvement
Project started on April 10, 2017. The Project was completed on May 2, 2019; and
WHEREAS, the final construction cost is $5,434,926.91, which includes thirty one
(31) contract change orders in the total amount of$2,472,674 for additional work and bid
quantities (see attachment A); and •
WHEREAS, staff conducted the final inspection on July 11, 2019 and found that
all work was completed in accordance with the project plans and specifications.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES
HEREBY FIND, PROCLAIM, ORDER, AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the City Council of the City of Lynwood accepts the Long Beach
Boulevard Phase 2 Improvement Project No.4011.67.997 as complete in accordance with
contract documents and authorizes the Director of Public Works or his designee to
process the recordation of the Notice of Completion.
Section 2. This resolution shall go into effect immediately upon its adoption.
Section 3. The City Clerk shall certify as to the adoption of this Resolution.
