RESOLUTION NO. 2020.058
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
AWARDING A CONTRACT TO HARDY AND HARPER, INC, AS THE LOWEST
RESPONSIBLE BIDDER IN THE AMOUNT OF $ 277,000.00 FOR LONG
BEACH BLVD/ 105 FWY INTERCHANGE CURB RAMPS PROJECT;
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE THE AGREEMENT; APPROVING
A REDUCTION IN APPROPRIATION IN THE AMOUNT OF $235,595.23 FROM
THE STREET PMP DESIGN BUDGET (4011.68.052) AND APPROVING A
BUDGET AMENDMENT TO APPROPRIATE THE $235,595.23 TO THE LONG
BEACH BOULEVARD/105 FREEWAY INTERCHANGE CURB RAMP
IMPROVEMENTS (CIP 4011.68.062), FOR A TOTAL FUNDING OF
$445,532.13
WHEREAS,the Long Beach Blvd/ 105 FWY Interchange Curb Ramps Project(CIP
No. 4011.68.062) includes constructing 21 curb ramps, partial replacement concrete
sidewalks, curb and gutters, traffic signing and striping; and
WHEREAS, the Project limit is on the 105 Freeway interchange ramps along Long
Beach Blvd
WHEREAS, on March 18, 2020, the Notice Inviting Bids for the project was
advertised in the Daily Journal, Bid America, and on the City's web site (PlanetBids) and
WHEREAS, the bid opening took place in the PlanetBids Platform on Wednesday,
April 8, 2020 at 10:00 A.M. (Pacific Time); and
WHEREAS, staff received seven (7) bid proposals; and
WHEREAS, Hardy & Harper, Inc. is the lowest responsible bidder;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES
HEREBY FIND, PROCLAIM, ORDER, AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1.That the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute the agreement between
the City of Lynwood and Hardy& Harper, Inc. for Long Beach Blvd/ 105 FWY Interchange
Curb Ramps Project (CIP No. 4011.68.062) in the amount of$ 277,000.
Section 2. That the City Council approves the following budget adjustment and
appropriations:

Section 3. The City Council authorizes the City Manager under LMC 6-3.15(d) to
exceed the specific dollar amounts or percentage limitations under LMC 6-3.15(a) and
authorizes the City Manager to approve modifications and change orders related to the
Project up to the available Project Budgets.
Section 4. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
Section 5. The City Clerk shall certify as to the adoption of this City Council
Resolution.
PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City Council of
the City of Lynwood, California, this 5th day of May, 2020.
