LOUIS HOHENSTEIN, do solemnly swear that -I will faith- fully and honestly perform the duties of Councilman of the -Town of Savannah Beach, Tybee Island, Georgia, to the best of my skill and ability, without favor or affection, so help me God. I, DR. C. LOUIS HOHENSTEIN, a citizen'of Chatha3u County, Georgia, and being an employee of the Town of Savannah Beach, and the recipient of public funds for serVices rendered as such employee, -do hereby solemnly swear and affirm that I will support the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of the State of Georgia, and that I am not a member of -the Communist Party and that I have no sympathy for the doctrines"of commism and will not lend my aid, my support, my advise, my counsel nor my influence to the Communist Party or to the teachings of communism. A special meeting was held today at 7 :30 P.M. in the Council Room in the Town Hall and was attended by Mayor Brown, who presided, and Councilmen Fleetwood, Hosti, Powers, Lovell, Waters, Town Attorney Solms and Dr. C. Louis Hohenstein. The meeting was called for the following purposes: 1. Swearing in Dr. C. Louis Hohenstein as Councilman 2. To receive the report of the managers as to the result of the election held for Mayor & Councilmen on April 6, 1946 Mayor Brown submitted the oath to Dr. C. Louis Hohenstein which was accepted by him. 1 1 187 A report of the managers showing the results of -the election held on April 6; 1964 for Mayor and Councilman of Savannah Beach was presented to Council as follows: TO THE MAYOR AND COUNCILMEN OF SAVANNAH BEACH, TYBEE ISLAND, CHATHAM COUNTY, GEORGIA: We, the undersigned, who were duly appointed as Managers of -the Election for Mayor and Councilmen of SavannahBeach,`Tybee lslatad, by Resolution adopted by Council at a meeting held on the 23rd day of March 1964, and who have conducted said election held on April 6, 1964, in accordance with the provisions of -the Charter of Savannah Beach, Tybee Island, and the laws of the State of Georgia applicable thereto, do hereby certify that said election was held on April 6, 1964, in accordance with the law, and that the following candidates received the number of votes set forth opposite their names for said office in said election: FOR MAYOR James A. Brown William J. Lucas Edmond J. LOVELL have received the highest number of votes cast for any candidate for the office of-Councilmen of said Town who are bona fide residents and domiciled in Chatham County, outside the corporate limits of the Town of Savannah Beach, Tybee Island, and on property at Savannah Beach, Tybee Island; and that JANES H. POWERS,'BENNO P. HOSTI AND ROBERT L. WATERS have received the highest number of votes cast for any candidate for the office of Councilmen of said Town who are bona fide'residents .and domiciled within the cor- porate limits of the Town of Savannah Beach, Tybee Island. It was moved, seconded and passed that the following Resolution be adopted. A RESOLUTION WHEREAS' the managers duly named by Resolution passed -by the Mayor and Councilmen of Savannah Beach, Tybee Island, in council assembled, on the 23rd day of March, 1964, to conduct the election just concluded and held oh -this 6th day of April, 1964 at Savannah Beach, Tybee Island, Georgia, for the purpose of electing a Mayor and six (6) councilmen, three (3) of whom shall be bona fide residents and domiciled withiithe corporate limits of the Town of Savannah Beach, Tybee Island, and three (3) of whom shall be bona fide residents and comiciled in Chatham County, Georgia, outside the corporate limits of the Town of Savannah Beach,Tybee Island, and shall own property at Savannah Beach, Type Island, to had office until the first Monday in July 1966 or until their successors have been duly elected and qualified, have made the consolidated returns and /or results to the Mayor and Councilmen calling said election, which consolidation was done in the presence of and together with the several managers; and: WHEREAS, it appears that JANES A. BROWN received the highest number of votes for Mayor of Savannah Beach, Tybee Island; ands 1 1 1 1 WHEREAS, JAMES H. POWERS, BENNO P. HOSTI AND ROBERT L. WATERS RECEIVED THE Highest number of votes for Councilmen of Savannah Beach:, Tybee Island, who are bona fide residents and domiciled within the corporate limits of the Town of Savannah Beach, Tybee Island, Georgia and C. LOUIS HOHENSTEIN, WILLIAM C. FLEETWOOD AND WILLIAMS. LOVELL, received the highest number of votes for Councilmen of Savannah Beach,Tybee Island, who are bona fide residents and domiciled in Chatham County, Georgia, out- side the corporate limits of the Town of`Savannah Beach, Tybee Island, and who own property at Savannah Beach, Tybee Island. NOW , THEREFORE,'BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Councilmen of Savannah Beach, Tybee Island, in council assembled, and it is hereby resolved by the authority of the same, that the result of said election be, and the same is, hereby declared as electing: JAMES A. BROWN bas Mayor JAMES H. POWERS BENNO P. HOSTI as Councilman as Councilman ROBERT L. WATERS as Councilman C. LOUIS HOHENSTEIN as Councilman WILLIAM C. FLEETWOOD as Councilman WILLIAMS. LOVELL as Councilman of Savannah Beach, Tybee Island, to hold office Until the first Monday in July, 1966 or until their successors are elected and duly qualified; said results appearing from the returns of said election managers, which said returns are hereby adopted and made a part hereof.
