SUMMARY STATEMENT:
The Idaho Transportation Department – Office of Highway Safety – has announced the FFY23 Traffic Enforcement Grant Project Agreement (TEGPA). The McCall Police Department has partnered
with the Office of Highway Safety over the last ten years by utilizing this funding resource to provide traffic enforcement initiatives in addition to regular patrol activities.
The Office of Highway Safety High Visibility Traffic Enforcement Mobilizations provides for the reimbursement of officer salaries during traffic enforcement grant activities.
The Office of Highway Safety Mini Grants provides funding resources for Special Emphasis Traffic Enforcement, Traffic Enforcement Equipment Projects, Public Information and Education,
and Traffic Safety Related Training. A grant match of 25% is required for Mini Grants when applied for and approved by the Idaho Transportation Department.
If approved for equipment funding through the Traffic Enforcement Equipment Projects, the McCall Police Department will purchase applicable traffic enforcement related equipment. The
dollar amount earned through the grant will be determined by the actual equipment purchased.
Attached is the FY23 Traffic Enforcement Grant Project Agreement.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Approve Submission of the Idaho Transportation Department – Office of Highway Safety FFY23 Traffic Enforcement Grant Project Agreement (TEGPA) application and authorize the mayor to
sign all necessary documents.
