The EAC was staffed by the CED Department from 2009-2013 then moved to the Parks and Recreation Department for staffing. This committee was established by the McCall City Code. A code amendment will need to be approved by the City Council to delete this code reference in the future per MCC 1.10.01. Since the formation of the EAC committee, which has not been an active committee for several years, there has been progress on environment practices within the organization and within the community. Similarly public involvement has evolved to move beyond the use of a committee. Sustainability and climate action planning are underway within the organization and will be more formalized in the 2024 McCall Area Comprehensive Plan update. New sustainability frameworks, like the evaluation of the electric greens mowers at the golf course, will be used moving forward. Therefore, it is recommended by Staff that the City Council dissolve the EAC so staff resources can be more efficiently utilized to engage the public more broadly on environmental topics and partner with existing environmental groups and organizations when needed. RECOMMENDED ACTION: Dissolve the Environmental Advisory Committee and authorize the Mayor to sign all necessary documents. RECORD OF COUNCIL ACTION MEETING DATE ACTION
