AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY
ADDING NEW SECTION 3331 TO THE TEMPLE
CITY MUNICIPAL CODE (AS RECODIFIED) RE-
LATING TO TRAFFIC REGULATIONS
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY DOES ORDAIN:
SECTION 1, New Section 3331, reading as follows, is
hereby added to the Temple City Municipal Code (as recodified):
3331. Regulations Public Parking Lots.
The driveways, passageways and circulation routes
within a public parking area, serving a shopping center,
as defined in the Zoning Code, whether publicly or
privately owned, is hereby designated as traffic and fire
access lanes.
When appropriate signs are posted thereon, no
person shall stand or park a vehicle within any such
traffic or fire access lane, and all provisions of
the Vehicle Code may be enforced with regard thereto.
SECTION 2e The City Council finds and determines that
it is necessary and appropriate to enact this ordinance pur-
suant to the provision of Section 21107,6 of the Vehicle Code
and the general police power of the City (pursuant to the
Constitution, legislation, case law, and the Charter), in
order to provide for the health, safety and welfare of persons
using, vehicles transgressing, and ingress and egress for
abutting property owners surrounding large parking areas with
regard to which there is heavy traffic congestion. In the
event the owner of any such parking facility refuses juris-
diction to the City to enforce Section 3331, as above set
forth, appropriate public hearings and notices as required
by Section 21107.6 of the Vehicles Code shall be processed.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk of the City of Temple City
shall certify to the passage and adoption of this Ordinance
and to its approval by the Mayor and shall cause the same to
be published in the Temple City Times, a newspaper of general
circulation, printed, published and circulated in the City of
Temple City.

No. 75 -425, was introduced at a regular meeting of the City
Council of the City of Temple City, held on the 18th day of
November, 1975, and was duly passed, approved and adopted by
said Council,; approved and signed by the Mayor and attested by -
the City Clerk at a regular meeting of the said City Council
held on the 2nd day of December, 1975, by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmen- Merritt, Tyrell, Greenberg
NOES: Councilmen- None
ABSENT Councilmen- Dennis, Gilbertson
