NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana: SECTION 1. Waltermann, Mayor SUBJECT: 1990 Salary Ordinance COPY TO: Marge Sweet The salary ordinance format as presented is an approved method sanctioned by the Indiana State Board of Accounts. This has simplified and removed confusion over how many employees we have by classification and those distinctions within each classification. The total number shown is 342. The only other city employees not listed are Richmond Power & Light and Richmond Sanitary District. It is easily discernible to reflect total numbers of employees from the low scale to the higher scale. This form totally removes personalities from positions and alleviates jealousies among members of our workforce. This ordinance exhibits the maximum allowable pay to individuals within classification. It allows discretionary power of each department head to set incentives to motivate individuals to a high standard of performance.
