Re: Ordinance No. 58-1989
Plan Commission Case PDP-89-6
Dear Mrs. Hutton, Members of Common Council and
Mrs. Merchanthouse:
The Richmond City Plan Commission conducted a public hearing on
Tuesday, August 22, 1989, on the petition of Frederick A. Adelsperger
and Lee and June Overdorf, owners; George Sowers, agent requesting the
vacation of the dedicated right-of-way of a 10' alley running south off of
North A Street between North 15th and North 16th Streets.
Eight (8) notices of public hearing were sent to the surrounding residents
with seven (7) returned in favor of the request. During the public
hearing, no one spoke in opposition to the request. During the public
hearing, the petitioner requested that the petition be amended by adding
a legal description of the alley proposed to be vacated. The Plan
Commission voted to accept the amendment to the petition.
The Plan Commission determined the public right -of way is nolonger
needed for the future growth and development of the City. The
Commission voted ten (10) to zero (0) to recommend that Ordinance No.
58-1989 be amended by incorporating the alley's legal description into
Section 1. of the Ordinance and upon that amendment the Ordinance be
adopted.
