HomeMy Public PortalAboutOrdinance 76-429ORDINANCE NO. 76 -429 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY AMENDING THE TEMPLE CITY ZONING CODE RELATING TO DEFINITIONS THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY DOES ORDAIN: SECTION 1. That the City Council of the City of Temple City does hereby find, determine and declare: (a) That the Planning Commission has heretofore determined that it is in the public interest, conve- nience and necessity to add the hereinafter specified definitions to the Temple City Zoning Code; (b) That the existing provisions of the Temple City Zoning Code do not so provide such definitions at present; and (c) That the public interest, convenience and necessity require the amendment of the Temple City Zoning Code in the manner hereinafter set forth. SECTION 2. The following definitions are hereby added to the appropriate definition sections contained in the Temple City Zoning Code: "Kennel shall mean a place where four (4) or more adult dogs or cats or° -any combination thereof are kept, whether by owners of the animals or persons providing facilities and care therefor, whether or not for compensation. An adult dog or cat is one of either sex, altered or unaltered, that has reached the age of four (4) months. Restaurant shall mean an establishment used primarily for the preparation and sale of food and beverages to be consumed on the premises including the sale of alcoholic beverages where incidental to the sale of food. Restaurant, drive -in shall mean a restaurant where, in whole or in part, food and beverages are served to customers, and consumed, in vehicles on the premises. Restaurant, fast food or takeout shall mean an establishment used for the preparation and sale of food or beverages ready for consumption and to be consumed primarily away from the premises where sold. Bar or tavern shall mean an establishment used primarily for the on- premise sale and consumption of alcoholic beverages including establishments where food is sold and /or entertainment provided as inci- dental thereto. Shopping center shall mean a group of three (3) or more contiguous or adjacent retail commercial business establishments planned, developed, owned, or managed as a single unit." SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Ordinance and to its approval by the Mayor and shall cause the same to be published in the. Temple City Times, a newspaper of general"circulation, .'printed4 published and circulated in the City of Temple City. 1 Ordinance No. 76 -429 APPROVED and ADOPTED this 20th day of January , 1976.
