AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY
AMENDING SECTIONS 2345 AND 2346 OF THE
TEMPLE CITY MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO
OVERTIME COMPENSATION
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY DOES ORDAIN:
SECTION 1,. That Sections 2345 and 2346 of the Temple City
Municipal Code are hereby amended to read as follows:
"2345. MANNER OF COMPENSATION.
Employees shall receive overtime compensation in
one of the following manners (the manner selected shall
be-at the sole option of the City Manager and the con-
venience of the City);
(a) Payment for hours worked in excess of 40
at a rate not less than one and one -half times the
employee's regular rate of pay; or
(b) Compensatory time off equal to one and
one -half the number of hours of overtime worked.
Compensatory time off shall be taken at the con-
venience of the City after obtaining prior approval
from the City Manager.
2346. AUTHORIZATION FOR OVERTIME.
Overtime shall not be authorized without prior City
Manager approval except in an emergency, and all compen-
sation for overtime, whether payment or compensatory time
off, must have City Manager authorization."
SECTION 2. The City Clerk of the City of Temple City shall
certify to the passage and adoption of this Ordinance and to its
approval by the Mayor and shall cause the same to be published
in the Temple City Times, a newspaper of general circulation,
printed, published and circulated in the City of Temple City.
