Home My Public Portal About047-2013 - Grant - Wayne County Foundation - Improving quality of life programORDINANCE NO.47-2013 AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL, ACCEPTANCE, AND APPROPRIATION OF A GRANT FROM THE WAYNE COUNTY, INDIANA, FOUNDATION WHEREAS, In accordance with Indiana Code (IC) 36-1-4-10, a municipality may execute any documents necessary to receive money from the state or federal government or any other source, and said documents are prepared and executed by the City executive administration, provided that the Common Council of the City of Richmond as the legislative body of the City approves an ordinance for the appropriation of any monies received in accordance with IC 36-4-6-18; and WHEREAS, The Wayne County Foundation has grant funding available through its "Improving Quality of Life" grant program; and WHEREAS, The City of Richmond Parks Department has submitted or will submit a grant application to obtain the funds on behalf of Dave Snow dba Richmond City Life for the 2013 City Life program; and WHEREAS, The funds obtained will be used for the City Life summer series including, but not limited to, interactive art exhibits, civic theatre productions, special concerts, and marionette performances; and WHEREAS, No local match is required. NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, as follows: I. The City of Richmond Department of Parks and Recreation has submitted or will submit, as authorized by IC 36-1-4-10, a grant application to the Wayne County Foundation. 2. The City of Richmond Department of Parks and Recreation is authorized to accept said grant funding in an amount up to Nine Thousand Nine Hundred Dollars and Zero Cents ($9,900.00). 3. Said funds, if awarded, shall be appropriated to be granted to Dave Snow dba Richmond City Life to fund the 2013 City Life program.
