AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT WITH MCEOC-
DIGITAL DIVIDE PROGRAM
WHEREAS, Middlesex County Economic Opportunities Corporation
("MCEOC") has agreed to provide an individualized, basic computer course to
seniors and other citizens of the Borough of Carteret ("Borough"); and
WHEREAS, as a condition of its offer to sponsor and fund this program to be
called "Digital Divide", the MCEOC has requested that the Borough provide
certain in-kind transportation services for said program and to pay for
promotional materials for the same at a cost not to exceed $500.00; and
WHEREAS, the Borough and MCEOC wish to memorialize their respective
commitments to the Digital Divide program, pursuant to an agreement reflecting
the same which is attached hereto and made a part hereof.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the
Borough of Carteret, County of Middlesex, State of New Jersey as follows:
1. That the attached Digital Divide Agreement is hereby
approved.
2. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to sign the Digital
Divide Agreement to memorialize the Borough's commitment to
provide the above described matching funds and in-kind services
for the program.
3. That a copy of this Resolution and the attached Agreement
be forwarded to the MCEOC.
Adopted this 3rd day of October, 2002
and certified as a true copy of the
original on October 4, 2002.
