Re: Monthly Department Report – January 2021
1. Weather:
January ended with plentiful snow. Over 2 feet the last week of the month giving us a depth of 38 inches
the end of the month.
2. Staff:
At the end of January, we were at 3 full time staff. The staff member that tested positive for COVID-19
the day before Christmas, was out for a month. They came back to work the last week of January
working half days. There are two part time seasonal employees only working snow events and one part
time seasonal to do inventory and help in the office when needed.
3. Greens:
Greens at the end of the month looked good. Snow cover is around 38 inches deep and what frost was
in the ground had thawed and any ice had melted under the snow.
4. Club House:
Clubhouse exhaust fans were all replaced in the bathrooms and locker room.
5. Equipment Maintenance:
Grinding of reels on all the mowers is complete and there are only a few extra reels left to grind. Calvin,
the mechanic, is helping with snow removal.
6. Restaurant:
Banyan’s is open with their winter days and hours, Thursday evening through Sunday lunch. The fire
pit on the deck has been a big success. They have been selling a lot of hot chocolate to the kids using
the hill on 3 Birch for sledding and some adult beverages to the parents. Banyan’s have reported they
are doing ok and hanging in there. They have several regulars that support them.

7. Cart Paths:
The paths in January have been busy as has the tubing hill. Now that the snow is deeper, the dogs
spend more time on the paths instead of the neighbor’s yards, so the complaints have decreased. The
signs that Erin Greaves had made up have also helped some. There are still those that don’t care. I am
hopeful that the Code Enforcement Officer can come out and write a few tickets. It isn’t like they
haven’t had enough warnings. Staff picked up 614 lbs. of poop in January which puts our running total
for the season at 1369 lbs.
