Valley County Big Read updates ~ what if everyone in the valley read the same book?
There has been huge response to this NEA Big Read effort. So far, approximately 100 adult books and
40 kids books and many e-books have been distributed. Pick up your FREE copy of Circe by Madeline
Miller and enjoy a walking book talk with Tracey Kindall April 21st or a virtual book club April 26th.
Children’s Story hour (outdoors) will be April 29th. Sponsored by National Endownment for the Arts.

After School Adventures: the final session started, and will carry the 10 families involved through
the end of the academic year with safe and educational programming after school. Library staff have
added this to their regular duties this year and it’s appreciated by all.
TutorMobile service is serving several students at the Community Center (former Senior Center) and
as the weather warms, the bus has started to serve neighborhoods in McCall. Library assists with
learning materials and hotspots.
Doing Democracy (Zoom)-6:30 PM April 19th: Preserving our Rural Heritage. March 15th topic was
“Organizing community connections.” All are welcome to join the civic conversations. Email
library@mccall.id.us to receive the Zoom invite.
Sign Up Story Times continue to serve individual families 3 days per week.
Ready! For Kindergarten workshops, taught by Bre Anderson, continue during April. These one-
hour workships prepare young children to succeed in school. If parents do not have access to a laptop
or the Internet, they can borrow equipment or use the library to connect. Each family that participates
receives a school supply kit with fun educational play/learning materials to use at home.
A new round of Coding Club will start April 9th. Students grades 4-8 use Swift Playgrounds and other
Apple apps to learn basic coding principles in a fun, supportive environment. Students with library
cards may borrow iPads from the library to participate.
