AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 75 -411 OF
THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY BY ADOPTING BY REFERENCE
THE LOS ANGELES COUNTY MECHANICAL CODE AS CON-
TAINED IN THE 1977 EDI.TI.ON OF THE LOS ANGELES
COUNTY BUILDING LAWS PUBLISHED BY THE BUILDING
NEWS, INC. AND INCLUDING THE APPENDIX THERETO
AND MAKING OTHER AMENDMENTS,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY DOES ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Ordinance No, 75 -411 entitled "Mechanical Code"
adopted August 5, 1975, as codified in Section. 7200, et seq. of
the Temple City Municipal Code,.i.s hereby amended by adopting by
'reference, except as hereinafter provided, that certain Mechanical
Code known and designated as the Los Angeles County Mechanical Code
as contained in the 1977 edition of the Los Angeles. County Building
Laws publishe.&by the Building News, Inc >, and including the appendix
to said Los Angeles County Mechanical Code and such code,except as
herein provided, shall be and become the Mechanical: Code of the City
of Temple City providing for the'i.ssuance'of permits and the collec-
tion of fees therefor and providing. penalties for violation of such
code.
Three copies of said Los Angeles., County Building Laws have been
deposited in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Temple City
and shall be at all times maintained by said Clerk for use and exami-
nation by the public.
SECTION 2.. Whenever any of the following names or terms are
used in said Los Angeles County Mechanical Code, each such name or
term shall be deemed and construed to have the meaning ascribed to
it in this section as follows
"Board of Appeals" or "Board of Examiners of Plumbers" shall
mean the Board of Examiners of Plumbers, Gas Fitters, and Sewerage
Contractors of the County of Los Angeles established by Section 73
of the Los Angeles County Plumbing Code as published in the 1975
edition of the Los Angeles County Building Laws previously referred
to in this ordinance. ,
"Building Department" shall mean the "Building and Safety Division"
of the Department of the County Engineer.
"Building Code ", "Uniform Building Code" or "Los Angeles County
Building Code" shall mean Section 7100, et seq, of the Temple City
Municipal Code.
"Building Official" shall mean County Engineer of the County of
Los Angeles,
"City" shall mean th.e City of Temple City.
"Electrical Code" shall mean Section 7300; et seq. of the
Temple City Municipal Code,
"Fire Code" or "Los Angeles County Fire Code" shall mean
Section 3100, et seq. of the Temple City Municipal. Code.
"General Fund" shall mean the City Treasury of the City of
Temple City.
"Health Code" or "Los Angeles County Health. Code" shall mean
Section 3200, et seq, of the Temple City Municipal Code.
"Mechanical Code" shall mean. Section 7200, et seq. of the
Temple City Municipal Code
"Plumbing Code" shall mean Section 7400, et seq. of the Temple
City Municipal Code.,
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this
ordinance and to its approval by the Mayor and shall cause the same
to be published in the Temple City. Times, a newspaper of general
circulation, printed, published and circulated in the City of Temple
City.

foregoing Ordinance, being Ordinance No. 78 -458, was introduced at a
regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Temple City held on
the 17th day of January, 1978 and was duly passed, approved and adopted
by said Council, approved and signed by the Mayor and attested by the City
Clerk, . at a regular meeting of the said City Council held on the 7th day
of February, 1978, by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmen- Atkins, Dennis, Greenberg, Tyrell, Merritt
