AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL,
ACCEPTANCE, AND APPROPRIATION OF A GRANT FROM THE
FEDERAL EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY
WHEREAS, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has funding available
through its Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program; and
WHEREAS, the City of Richmond Fire Department desires to submit a grant application to
obtain funds that will be used to procure: 12 mobile 800 MHz radios, 12 portable
800 MHz radios and 1 Interoperability hardware; and
WHEREAS, a ten percent (10%) local match is required.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond,
Indiana, as follows:
1. The City of Richmond is authorized to accept said grant funding in an amount up to
Seventy One Thousand One Hundred Dollars and Zero Cents ($71,100.00).
2. The City of Richmond, Indiana hereby commits to provide local funds from the
Cumulative Capital Development Fund in an amount up to Seven Thousand Nine Hundred
Dollars and Zero Cents ($7,900.00) (10% of the total grant amount of $79,000.00) as required for
said grant.
3. Said grant funding shall be used to procure: 12 mobile 800 MHz radios, 12 portable
800 MHz radios and 1 Interoperability hardware.
Passed and adopted this _7th_ day of _Mav 2007, by the Common Council of
the City of Richmond, Indiana.
