AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 92 OF THE RICHMOND CITY CODE BEING THE FIRE
PREVENTION CODE AS IT CONCERNS THE MAINTENANCE OF SMOKE DECTORS.
WHEREAS, it is necessary to amend the maintenance section in Chapter 92 of the Richmond
City Code,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of Richmond,
Indiana, that section 92.20 (Maintenance) be amended as follwos:
_SECTION 92.20 MAINTENANCE
An owner subject to the provisions of this subchapter shall maintain each smoke detector in a
reliable operating condition and shall make periodic inspections and tests to insure that each
smoke detector is in proper working condition, unless the owner and occupant have otherwise
agreed in writing between themselves, in which event the occupant shall assume maintenance
responsibility.

Notice is hereby given that the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Wayne County,
Indiana will hold a public hearing on Monday March 21, 1988 at 7:30 P.M. in the
Council Chambers in the Richmond Municipal Building located at 50 North 5th Street, on
the following:[
ORDINANCE NO. 16-1988 - AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 92 OF THE RICHMOND
CITY CODE, BEING THE FIRE PREVENTION CODE, AS IT CONCERNS THE MAINTENANCE OF
SMOKE DETECTORS.[
All parties interested in or affected by this Ordinance are invited to attend the public
