Re: PROJECT # 5515168 Aerial to Underground Relocation on Deinhard Ln, Mccall
This is in response to your request for Ziply Fiber to perform the following work: Ziply will relocate all existing
aerial facilities on Deinhard Ln, near the intersection with Hwy 55, in McCall ID.
The city of McCall is responsible for paying the difference in costs to relocate from Overhead to Underground
compared to what it would have been to relocate from Overhead to Overhead. This includes the labor, material,
and engineering.
Scope of work: Place new underground path in the open trench along the section that is in conflict. Pull new
copper and fiber cables and tie into the existing. Splice all new facilities to keep all customers and networks
working properly. Remove all existing aerial strands and cables in order to take down the poles that are in conflict
in this project.
See Exhibit A for the cost breakdown

Exhibit A
Overhead vs underground relocation cost breakdown for the Deinhard road move:
Overhead to Underground: Place new underground path in the open trench along the section that is in
conflict. Pull new copper and fiber cables and tie into the existing. Splice all new facilities to keep all
customers and networks working properly. This is the main fiber backbone so fiber splicing will have to
be done at midnight. Remove all existing aerial strands and cables in order to take down the poles that
are in conflict in this project. Place new risers and anchors at the ends of the aerial section, where we
come down to underground. Traffic control for 1-2 days to remove all abandoned facilities.
Overhead to Overhead: Place 2 new Ziply poles and remove the old ones. Transfer all aerial
attachments as is onto the new aerial lead (4 IPCO poles and 2 new Ziply fiber poles). No need for any
new copper or fiber. No need for any new splicing. Ziply would need traffic control for 1-2 days for the
pole replacement and facility transfer.
