Minutes of the Strategic Planning Meeting of the Village President and the Board of Trustees
Held on April 20, 2016
at Public Works
Mayor Collins called the meeting to order at 6:08 p.m. Present were: Mayor Collins, Trustee
Wojowski, Trustee Bonuchi (6:30 p.m.), Trustee Lamb, Trustee O'Rourke, Trustee Peck, and Trustee
Racich. Others present: Lewis G. Bender, Facilitator; Brian Murphy,Administrator; Traci
Pleckham, Management Services Director; Amy De Boni, Community Relations Director; Jon
Proulx, Planner; Ken Goska, Building Official; Rick Kaczanko, IT Director; Allen Persons, Public
Works Director; Mark Stofko, Water Superintendent; Randy Jessen, Public Improvements
Superintendent; and John Konopek, Police Chief. There was one person in the audience.

STRATEGIC PLANNING DISCUSSION
Mr. Lew Bender, Facilitator, stated that the purpose of the series of strategic planning meetings is to
get a shared vision for 2021. Mr. Bender gave a presentation regarding Trends and Implications. Mr.
Bender highlighted population, employment, economy, health care, culture, finances, education,
employment trends and issues, crime, and encouraging trends. Village staff reviewed industry trends.
There was some general discussion regarding the information presented. Mr. Bender pointed that
there would more detailed discussion at the next Strategic Planning Meeting.
Mayor Collins thanked everyone for the discussion and pointed out the next Strategic Planning
Meeting will be held on Friday at 8:00 a.m. at the Village Hall and the Strategic Planning Meeting
with the residents will be held on May 4 at 7:00 p.m. at Plainfield Central High School.
On a motion from Trustee Lamb and seconded by Trustee Bonuchi,the meeting adjourned at
8:48 p.m.
