Minutes of the Strategic Planning Meeting of the Village President and the Board of Trustees
Held on April 22, 2016
at Village Hall
Mayor Collins called the meeting to order at 8:06 a.m. Present were: Mayor Collins, Trustee
Wojowski, Trustee Bonuchi, Trustee Lamb, Trustee O'Rourke, Trustee Peck, and Trustee Racich.
Others present: Lewis G. Bender, Facilitator; Brian Murphy, Administrator; Traci Pleckham,
Management Services Director; Amy De Boni, Community Relations Director; Jon Proulx, Planner;
Ken Goska, Building Official; Rick Kaczanko, IT Director; Allen Persons, Public Works Director;
Doug Kissel, Wastewater Superintendent; and John Konopek, Police Chief There was one person in
the audience.
PUBLIC COMMENTS
Ruth, Plainfield resident, stated that she really appreciated the work that the Village is doing
implanting the 5-year plan.
STRATEGIC PLANNING DISCUSSION
Mr. Lew Bender, Facilitator, reviewed some comments from the trends presentation. Village staff
gave an update on the action items for the Strategic Planning 2018.
The Village Board and staff broke into groups to discuss potential goal areas for the 2021 Strategic
Plan including Transportation and Traffic; Community Life and Community Sustainability; Village
accessibility and efficiency; and economic growth and sustainability.
After the break-out sessions, Mr. Bender stated that he will review the sessions.
Mayor Collins thanked everyone for the discussion and pointed out the next Strategic Planning
Meeting with the residents will be held on May 4 at 7:00 p.m. at Plainfield Central High School.
Trustee Peck moved to adjourn to Executive Session as permitted by the Open Meetings Act under
Section 2 (c)(1)to discuss the appointment, employment, compensation discipline, performance, or
dismissal of employees or legal counsel, not to reconvene. Second by Trustee Lamb. Vote by roll
call. Wojowski, yes; Bonuchi, yes; Lamb, yes; O'Rourke, yes; Peck, yes; Racich, yes. 6 yes, 0 no.
Motion carried.
