CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA
ORDINANCE 75-2013
A SPECIAL ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF RICHMOND TO
RECEIVE A DONATION OF ACTIVE LIVING WORKSHOPS
FROM THE INDIANA STATE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH
WHEREAS, The City of Richmond, Indiana, has the option of accepting or rejecting donations for
a specific purpose; and
WHEREAS, The acceptance of a donation for a specific purpose constitutes the appropriation of
such property for the intended purpose; and
WHEREAS, The Indiana State Department of Health Division of Nutrition and Physical Activity
will be providing free Active Living Workshops to selected Indiana communities,
provided that the selected communities match the donation by providing the venue
and lunch for the participants; and
WHEREAS, It is in the best interest of the City of Richmond that the City administration be
authorized to sign an application to the Indiana State Department of Health, Division
of Nutrition and Physical Activity for the purpose of acquiring the donation the
Active Living Workshops with an application pledge that the City will provide the
venue and lunch for participants in the event the City of Richmond is selected to host
the free Workshops.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, that
the donation of the free Active Living Workshops from the Indiana State Department of Health,
Division of Nutrition and Physical Activity shall be accepted and gratefully acknowledged by the
citizens of Richmond.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it also ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana,
that the City administration be authorized to sign the application to the Indiana State Department of
Health, Division of Nutrition and Physical Activity, to represent and to sign on behalf of the City of
Richmond for the purpose of acquiring the free Active Living Workshop with the donation match
that the. City will provide the venue and lunch for participants if the City is chosen to host the free
Workshops.

Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana.
