Fisher, Plainfield Police. 815-439-2932 Armed, Barricaded Subject with Hostage Incident On Sunday, May 29th, 2016 at 6:45 P.M. the Plainfield Police Department responded to the 24100 block of Nottingham Ave in response to a subject calling stating he was armed, barricaded and had a hostage. Upon officer's arrival, they immediately set up a perimeter, based on their initial observations and requested mutual aid. Officers from several local agencies including Joliet, Romeoville, Bolingbrook, Shorewood, Will County Sheriff's Department, and the Naperville SWAT team arrived to assist. Multiple attempts to make contact with anyone in the residence were made. These attempts were met with negative results. A short time later, the Naperville SWAT team made entry and secured the residence. They did not locate anyone inside. Several residents in the 24100 block of Nottingham were evacuated and the roadway was shut down for approximately three hours. The residence is currently being examined by the Plainfield Police Department Investigations and Evidence Processing Division. The investigation is on-going with the potential for classification as a "Swatting Incident."
