Foust, owner; Ronald L. Cross agent, requesting a rezoning from R-2 single family residential to C-4 General Commercial, on property located at 609 Northwest L Street Richmond, Wayne County, Indiana. Notices were delivered to 14 surrounding property owners, with 2 comments in favor of the request returned to this office. No comments were received in opposition. The staff report indicated that many of the existing uses in the neighborhood were of the C-4 commercial type; such as Bucks' garage, Koorsen Protection service, Dun/Rite Body shop, McFarling Bros. Inc., and Tyndalls' Warehouse. The petitioner presented a petition from all surrounding residential property owners supporting his requested rezoning. The Plan Commission voted 9 in favor, with 2 absent, to recommend the passage of Ordinance No. 20-1997.
