A SPECIAL ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ZONING MAP AT 609
NORTHWEST "L" STREET
WHEREAS the zoning map designates real estate located at 609 Northwest "L"
Street as R-2 One Family Residence District; and
WHEREAS it is desirable to change the zoning designation to C-4 General
Business District;
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond,
Indiana, that the zoning designation of the real estate located at 609 Northwest "L" Street
is hereby designated C-4 Ge eral Business District.
Passed and adopted this day ok\ n 1997, by the Common Council
of the City of Richmond, Indiana. I

RE: Ordinance No. 20-1997
Dear Mr. Dickman:
Please advise the members of Common Council that the Richmond Advisory Plan
Commission conducted a public hearing, Monday March 24, 1997, on the petition of
Michael A. Foust, owner; Ronald L. Cross agent, requesting a rezoning from R-2
single family residential to C-4 General Commercial, on property located at 609
Northwest L Street Richmond, Wayne County, Indiana.
Notices were delivered to 14 surrounding property owners, with 2 comments in
favor of the request returned to this office. No comments were received in
opposition.
The staff report indicated that many of the existing uses in the neighborhood were
of the C-4 commercial type; such as Bucks' garage, Koorsen Protection service,
Dun/Rite Body shop, McFarling Bros. Inc., and Tyndalls' Warehouse.
The petitioner presented a petition from all surrounding residential property
owners supporting his requested rezoning.
The Plan Commission voted 9 in favor, with 2 absent, to recommend the passage of
Ordinance No. 20-1997.

This ordinance relates to the rezoning request located at 609 Northwest "L" Street from R-2 One
Family Residence District to C-4 General Business District.
The ordinance should be referred to Plan Commision for public hearing at its meeting on March
25, 1997.
The ordinance should be back to Council for second reading on April 7, 1997.
