Exdcutive meeting was held for the purpose of discussing the request of Mr. Thompson for abuilding permit. Mr. Solms stated that regarding easements, eats., there is a problem - if there is any thought of connedting area to the parking lots action should be taken now before Mr. Thompson takes action in the Courts - the Mayor approached Mrs. Haar to sell her property, she would not quote him a price - Councilman Davis stated it would be a detriment to area.- Mr. Solms suggested that oe oil; ptot,L t lkf - abrc Ott pk.ingFnatzioothey are for regulating traffic - if Mr. Thompsonts permit is not granted, he will mandamus the Town - there is a question of title to the Brass Rail property. The meeting adjourned. Savannah Beach, Ga., May 15th, 1968. The regular - meeting og Twon Council was held today, in the Council Room in the Town Hall and was attended by Mayor Brown, who presided, and Councilmen Fleetwood, Counihan, Cary, Daniels, Davie, Hohenstein, Town Attorney Solms, Supt Reed, U.L. Harley, Mr. Vosberg, E.J.Solomon and S.R.Kent. The minutes of the meeting April 17th were read and adopted. Mr. Harley informed Council that he is going to stop traffic using a portion of Rosewood Avenue, for one half block, it is to benefit the Catholic Sisters who also use this street - referred to Councilman Counihan to handle - Mr. Harley also requested a street light in his area - Mr. Soma stated the Town did not accept some of the streets in the Fort Screven area - Mr. Harley wanted to trade part of his lot for part of .the street, the Town has not claimed it - Councilman Davis stated that Town can not discontinue use of street - the Mayor suggested that Mr. Harley have his attorney handle it. Councilman Cary reported that his Committee and Mr. Vosberg, the representative of the America La France Company had met and Mr. Vosberg stated that the price of $23,200.00 quoted for the fire engine were based on the price in effect up to April 30th,1968, that new increased prices wemt into effect May 1st, 1968 - the Mayor requested that the Budget be checked before committing the Town - Councilman Fleetwood stated that if the Town needs it it could be paid for over a 3 year period - the Mayor asked that it be defe'red until the July Meeting - Councilman Daniels stated delivery will take about 8 to 10 months - Councilman Davis stated the property owners will pay a lots more if the Town ddsent get it - Councilman unihan noted that the Town has heavy obligations now and does not e fund: - Councilman Cary recommended purchasing it if can pay for it otherwise dont buy.- Councilman Fleetwood
