A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD,
COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, APPROVING
ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATION FROM MEASURE R BONDS FOR HSIP
CYCLE 9 PROJECTS IMPERIAL HIGHWAY & ATLANTIC AVENUE (CIP
NO. 68.073) IN THE AMOUNT OF $5,000; ALAMEDA & CARLIN
AVENUE (CIP NO. 68.074) IN THE AMOUNT
NOF 68 075)$35,000;N AND
THE
ATLANTIC AVENUE & CARLIN AVENUE
AMOUNT OF $5,000
WHEREAS, on January 16, 2019, the California State Transportation Agency
awarded the City federal funds under the Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP)
Cycle 9; and
WHEREAS, there were three projects funded by HSIP Cycle 9, 1) HSIP Cycle 9
(Imperial Highway & Atlantic Avenue); 2) HSIP Cycle 9 (Alameda Street & Martin Luther
King Jr. Boulevard); 3) HSIP Cycle 9 (Atlantic Avenue & Carlin Avenue; and
WHEREAS, since this is a federal project, there were additional requirements
needed to obtain Caltrans approval to proceeds with design and construction, therefore,
staff obtained the services of Avant Garde; and
WHEREAS, HSIP Cycle 9 (Alameda Street & Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard)
requires Union Pacific Railroad Company to perform preliminary engineering; and
WHEREAS, additional funding in the amount of$40,000 is needed for these three
projects during design phase to cover the cost for Avant Garde and the Reimbursement
Agreement for Preliminary Engineering Services with Union Pacific Railroad Company.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES
HEREBY FIND, PROCLAIM, ORDER, AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Council approves the following appropriation:
