RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS TO BEGIN
NEGOTIATIONS WITH AMENT, INC. FOR A DESIGN CONTRACT TO
RECONSTRUCT BELMONT ROAD FROM PLEASANT VALLEY HIGH SCHOOL
TO VALLEY DRIVE.
WHEREAS,the Cities of Bettendorf and Riverdale, Iowa have mutually agreed to
perform the project stated above and have agreed to equally share the local cost of the
work, and have designated the City of Bettendorf as the lead agency; and,
WHEREAS,requests for proposals for the project were sent to qualified local
engineering firms on June 12, 2006 and subsequently four firms submitted proposals;
and,
WHEREAS,the City Council has determined that the firm Ament, Inc. is best
qualified to provide services for this matter;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Riverdale, Iowa that upon approval of the Department of Transportation and the City of
Bettendorf for the selection of Ament, Inc.,that the Director of Public Works is
authorized and directed to begin negotiations with Ament, Inc.for a contract to design the
reconstruction of Belmont Road from Pleasant Valley High School to Valley Drive.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 15th day of August, 2006.
