A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COMMISSION OF THE TOWN OF
GULF STREAM, PALM BEACH COUNTY, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING
FEDERAL TAX DEPOSIT PAYMENTS BY ELECTRONIC FUNDS
TRANSFER, AND DESIGNATING BARNETT BANK, 5112 N. OCEAN
BOULEVARD, OCEAN RIDGE, FLORIDA AS THE FINANCIAL
INSTITUTION FOR THE ELECTRONIC TRANSFER OF FEDERAL TAX
DEPOSIT PAYMENTS USING THE ACH DEBIT METHOD OF REMITTANCE;
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, beginning January 1, 1997 the Internal Revenue Service
will accept Federal Tax Deposit payments only by electronic transfer;
and
WHEREAS, the Town of Gulf Stream currently requires two (2)
signatures, one of which must be that of a Town Commissioner, for
expenditures of $500.00 or more; and
WHEREAS, the Federal Tax Deposits made by the Town of Gulf Stream
are always greater than $500.00; and
WHEREAS the procedure for making electronic funds transfers
does not provide for the use of any signatures in the transaction.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE TOWN COMMISSION OF THE TOWN
OF GULF STREAM, PALM BEACH COUNTY, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The Town of Gulf Stream authorizes enrollment in the
Electronic Federal Tax Payment System.
Section 2. The Town of Gulf Stream hereby designates the Barnett
Bank, 5112 N. Ocean Boulevard, Ocean Ridge, Florida as the financial
institution for electronic transfer of Federal Tax Deposit payments,
and further designates that the remittance method shall be ACH Debit.
Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately
upon passage.
PASSED AND ADOPTED in a regular adjourned session assembled this
7th day of August , 1996.
