A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD,
COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, APPROVING
THE SELECTION OF RASH CURTIS & ASSOCIATES AS THE CITY'S
COLLECTION AGENCY AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO .
EXECUTE A THREE-YEAR AGREEMENT WITH THE FIRM FOR A NOT
TO EXCEED AMOUNT OF $15,000 PER CALENDAR YEAR
WHEREAS, the City of Lynwood issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) for
collection services of delinquent City accounts; and
WHEREAS, the City of Lynwood received four (4) proposals from agencies with
experience in collection services; and
WHEREAS, there was a panel consisting of five (5) staff members from three
departments (which included the Information Technology Department, Recreation &
Community Services Department, and Finance & Administration Department; and
WHEREAS, the panel reviewed the submitted proposals and selected Rash Curtis
&Associates as the City's Collection Agency; and
WHEREAS, the City recommends a three-year contract beginning January 5,
2021 and ending December 31, 2023 with Rash Curtis &Associates ("Consultant"), for a
not-to exceed amount of$15,000 per calendar year.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES
HEREBY FIND, PROCLAIM, ORDER AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Council of the City of Lynwood authorizes the Acting City Manager
or her designee to execute a contract for a three-year term with the Consultant beginning
January 5, 2021 and ending December 31, 2023.
Section 2. The City Council of the City of Lynwood authorizes an agreement with the
Consultant for a "not to exceed" amount of $15,000 per calendar year for the period
January 5, 2021 through December 31, 2023, in a form approved by the City Attorney,
unless brought back to Council for amendment and/or extension.
Section 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution and hereafter
the same shall be in full force and effect.
