Public Comment: None received, Kara Jeffus in attendance. Approve Minutes from December 14, 2022, Meeting: motion made, seconded, and passed unanimously. Eric's Report: Working on equipment, although the mechanic is the snowblower for the paths. All the old library doors have been repurposed to the maintenance shed. Finished the breakroom in the office. Not planning to dig down to greens to check conditions until next month. Tee boxes on Birch are set to begin as soon as weather permits. Hoping to bid Aspen tee boxes for the Fall. Eric is planning to attend all the golf shows with Dustin. He plans to drag David with him to the Boise show to answer "new pro" questions. David's Report: Met with Rotary Club. Merchandise for 2023 season has been ordered. Staffing at over 21 people so far. Will meet with high school to hire for cart crew. New display racks on order, the maintenance staff will repurpose old display racks. Still no responses about an assistant pro. New club rentals 8 sets of Titleist premiums (keep for two years and then sell). Probably order 15-20 sets of lower end rentals. Point of Sale (POS) company will be here next Tuesday through Friday to set up and enter all merchandise. All passes will be sold online. The first or second week of February will likely be a large blow-out sale to get rid of the old merchandise. $180,000 worth of merchandise will be arriving March to May. New cart fleet will hopefully arrive the first week of May, and the old will be hauled away. We expect to have these carts for 5 years. Met with the Women's group and discussed the club championship date and golf league dates. The reroute of Birch 1 and 3 will work great for tournaments but will likely leave current routing for regular daily play. New cards will be ordered; a new slope and rating has been completed by IGA. David will track that and get the information on the new cards. Monthly Topic: Course rental fees revisited: Eric passed out a fact sheet with rates. The club rental fees will be $30 for a standard set, and $55 for the premium set. Motion made, seconded, and passed unanimously. Tony checked with numerous coursed around the State and only one course publishes and charges a per rider fee for private courses. Paver bricks will be purchased through the club house. Paver bricks will cost $125, with the extra $25 going into golf maintenance funds. Old Business: Eric asked about yardage markers in the fairway; they are problematic for the course crew, and most people use range finders. Will leave the 150 yard "barber poles" as a visual. Discussed placing painted markers on the cart paths. Proposed reroute for Birch 1 and Birch 2 to be postponed to next season (2024). This reroute will happen for tournaments. New Business: Nathan Stewart - Public Works director presented work planned for Davis Avenue that will affect the golf course. Resurfacing and adding bike lanes from Thompson to Lick Creek Road and replace the water main. A separated pathway from Fairway drive to Davis parking lot near Lick Creek Road. 50% chance of getting the project completed in 2023, if not then for sure in 2024. A reconstruction of the cart path along 5 Birch and 6 Birch tee box, with a swell between the road and the path. May need a maintenance access near Birch 6 tee. Will need signage to promote public pathway safety and prevent golf carts from using pedestrian only portions of the city pathways. Pre -bid meeting scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 19th. Goal is to have the final determination at the February city council meeting. Jim presented drawings of the new proposed score board and received one bid from Cam Charles (Russel Murdoch). Bid is $12,869 minus the cost of a season pass. The committee requested more detail and will invite Cam to attend next months meeting. City council will require two bids and plans will have to pass through the normal process. Questions were asked about how to pay for the project. Erick M will look up how many season cart passes were sold in previous years. Sponsorships for the McCall Amateur needs to be pursued. The letters for the Invitational will go out soon. A wait list will be made. Next Meeting: February 8, 2023, 5:00 PM Topic: Develope plan for Local Option Tax (LOT) Adjournment: 6:20. r Todd McKenna Vice Chair Eric McCormick Superintendent
