I would like to introduce myself to the community leaders in legislative District 8. My name is
Matthew Bundy and I am currently serving in the Idaho House of Representatives. I have experience in
local government, and I feel this has given me the insight needed to assist you in your great
communities. My family and I came to Idaho over 20 years ago as a member of the United States Air
Force and we love it here. After a career in the Air Force, I was fortunate to be hired as teacher at
Mountain Home High School. I have been active in community affairs the entire time. In Mountain
Home, I have served in a variety of community service positions dealing with economic development,
infrastructure upgrades and community development. I served the past four years as a member of the
Mountain Home City Council.
I would love to meet you any time you are in the Mountain Home area or in Boise during the session.
I have been traveling to many parts of this new District and I have been met with open arms and I
already enjoy working on issues of District 8. This is my second term in the legislature, and I am on the
Appropriations Committee (JFAC) and I have worked diligently on Water issues, educational funding,
and facilitating an atmosphere where both Idaho and the cities can do their work to serve their
constituents. I am excited to continue to work with the agriculture industry and now I am adding
tourism, logging, natural resources and please contact me if you are in Boise during the session and we
can meet and discuss whatever issues you might have. I will be in contact, but I just wanted you to
know that I am going to do my best to help facilitate local government and give you the opportunity to
share your thoughts and ideas with me. Thank you for all you do to serve your counties and local
