A SPECIAL ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ZONING MAP AT NORTH
"J" STREET AT MAPLE ROAD AND ELM ROAD
WHEREAS the zoning map designates real estate located at North "J" Street
at Maple Road and Elm Road as R-3 One to Eight Family Residence
District
WHEREAS Ordinance 30-1996 required the construction of a cul-de-sac at
the end of Maple Road
WHEREAS it is desirable to change the zoning designation to C-4 General
Business District
WHEREAS it is desirable to replat certain portions of Morton Lake and
Park Addition and connect Maple Road to North "J" Street
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond,
Indiana, that the zoning designation of the real estate located at North "J" Street at Maple
Road and Elm Road is hereby designated C-4 General Business District and Ordinance
30-1996 is hereby amended to remove the condition of creating a cul-de-sac on Maple
Road.
Passed and adopted thisw day of1997, by the Common Council
of the City of Richmond, Indiana.

Dear Mr. Dickman:
Please advise the members of Common Council that the Richmond Advisory Plan
Commission conducted a public hearing, Thursday, May 22, 1997, on the petition of
B&M Properties, Floyd A. Potter, and Michael Eugene Potter, owners; Gordon
Moore, agent; requesting a rezoning from R-3 One to Eight Family Residence District
to C-4 General Business District, located at at 1920 Maple Drive, Richmond, Indiana.
Notices were delivered to three surrounding property owners, with no comments
returned to this office.
The Plan Commission voted 8 in favor, with none opposed, and 3 absent, to
recommend the approval of Ordinance No. 50-1997.

Dear Council Member:
This ordinance relates to amending the zoning map at North "J" Street at Maple Road and Elm
Road as R-3 One to Eight Family Residence District to C-4 General Business District and amend
Ordinance 30-1996 which required the construction of a cul-de-sac at the end of Maple Road to
replat certain portions of Morton Lake and Park Addition and connect Maple Road to North "J"
Street.
The ordinance should be referred to Plan Commision for public hearing at its meeting on May 22,
1997.
The ordinance should be back to Council for second reading on June 2, 1997.
