GREENCASTLE COMMON COUNCIL
SPECIAL SESSION
WEDNESDAY, JULY 31, 1996 5:00 P.M. CITY STREET DEPARTMENT
The Greencastle Common Council met in Special Session .luly 3 t, 1996,5:00 p.m. at the City
Street Depanment. Mayor Michael called the meeting to order. On the Roll Call, the ;ol!owing
were found to be present: Councilor Roach, Councilor Hammer, Councilor Green. Councilor
Bavnard and Councilor Nlasten. Attomey Zeiner was also present.
Fhere were no Public Petitions or Comments
(Ordinance 1996 -12, An Ordinance Establishing the Size of Departments or City Government of
the City of Greencastle Indiana, Fixing the Salaries for the Employees of Such Departments and
Fixing the Salaries of Certain Other Appointed Officiais for the Year 1997, second reading.
Councilor Hammer requested that the pool employees be looked at again regarding the high end
of the scale. The low end of the scale was brought up . 15 cents due to the minimum wage
increase and it is only right to bring up the other end. .After some discussion, Councilor Flammer
made a motion to change the houriy rates with WSI to 55.35 5.45 and 5.55 and stay within the
dollar cap listed on the Ordinance. Councilor Roach seconded the motion. Vote was
unanimous.
Councilor Masten re that the Yard Waste Site person be deleted from the Ordinance.
Councilor Roach questioned if Phoenix would be willing to fill that position. After some
discussion, it was agrreed to leave the Yard Waste Site person in the Ordinance agreeing that
there are other options to look at and if the position was not funded in the budget it would not be
paid.
Councilor Roach moved to adopt Ordinance 1996 -12, as amended, seconded by Councilor
Hammer. Vote was unanimous.
Being no further business a motion was made by Councilor Hammer to adjourn, seconded by
Councilor Baynard. Vote was unanimous.
