A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
APPROVING THE CONTRACT CHANGE ORDER AND THE
AUTHORIZING AN APPROPRIATION IN THE AMOUNT OF $222,231
FROM SB1 (FUND 2121) AND $339,102 FROM THE LUA 2020
REVENUE BONDS (FUND 6305) FOR THE ADDITIONAL
IMPROVEMENTS ON LOUISE STREET FOR THE ALEXANDER
AVENUE, LOUISE STREET, POPE AVENUE, PENDLETON AVENUE,
SEMINOLE AVENUE, AND SHIRLEY AVENUE STREET, WATER AND
SEWER IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT (CIP NO. 4011.68.088)
WHEREAS, on September 15, 2020, the City Council awarded the construction
contract to Sully Miller Contracting Company for the Alexander Avenue, Louise Street,
Pope Avenue, Pendleton Avenue, Seminole Avenue, and Shirley Avenue Street, Water
and Sewer Improvements Project . Additional funding is needed to complete the paving
at Louise Street from Long Beach Boulevard to School Street; and
WHEREAS, originally, the design included Louise Street from Long Beach
Boulevard to School Street, the scope of work on Louise Street was reduced based on
the uncertainty of the Northgate development; and
WHEREAS, once it was determined that Northgate development was not going to
start as expected, staff recommended to proceed with the construction on Louise Street;
and
WHEREAS, the current design plan includes installation of a new 8 inch Water
Main Line with services, upgrade of curb ramps to ADA compliant curb ramps, removal
and replacement of cross gutter, and curb and gutters, tree removals and new tree
installations; and
WHEREAS, the Project also includes sanitary sewer repairs and CIPP lining, new
water mainlines including service laterals, smart meters, fire hydrants, and appurtenances;
and
WHEREAS,additional appropriation in the amount of$561,332 is required to cover
the Louise Street, Water and Sewer Improvements.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES
HEREBY FIND, PROCLAIM, ORDER, AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to appropriate additional funds
in the amount of $561,332 for the Alexander Avenue, Louise Street, Pope Avenue,
Pendleton Avenue, Seminole Avenue, and Shirley Avenue Street, Water and Sewer
Improvements Project (CIP No. 4011.68.088).

Section 2. That the City Council approves the following budget adjustments and
appropriations which includes appropriation from SB1 Fund and LUA 2020 Revenue
Bonds:

Section 3. The City Council authorizes the City Manager under LMC 6-3.15(d) to
exceed the specific dollar amounts or percentage limitations under LMC 6-3.15(a). Staff
requests for the City Council to authorize the City Manager to approve consultant,
vendor agreements, modifications, change orders or agreement amendments related to
the Project up to the approved Project budget.
Section 4. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
Section 5. The City Clerk shall certify as to the adoption of this City Council
Resolution.
