HomeMy Public PortalAbout062-1997 - STRICKEN - General Ordinance - Proposed amendment of Chapter 153 of the City CodePVISI: ORDINANCE NO.62-1997 A GENERAL ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 153 OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND CODE WHEREAS, Chapter 153 of the City of Richmond Code regulates the development of subdivisions within the City of Richmond, Indiana; and WHEREAS, it is desirable to clarify that, when sidewalks and curbs are required by City Code to be installed in any new subdivision, it will be the sole financial responsibility of the developer or the owner of the property to construct and maintain said sidewalks and curbs. NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, that a new Section 153.01(b)(4) is hereby added to the City of Richmond Code to read as follows: " Construction of curbs and sidewalks in any new subdivision, or any extension of an existing subdivision, whether required by this chapter or not, shall be the sole financial responsibility of the developer. Thereafter, maintenance of said curbs and sidewalks shall be the sole financial responsibility of the property owner."
