PLAINFIELD BOARD OF POLICE COMMISSIONERS
MINUTES
April 7.2016
Commissioner Michael Nott called the April 7,2016,meeting of the Board of Police
Commissioners to order at 5:00 p.m.In attendance were Commissioner Nott,Commissioner
Chapman,Commissioner Brixey,Chief John Konopek,Amy Eitapence from I/O Solutions and
Yvonne Zambrano.
Public Forum-Citizen's Comments-None.
The minutes of March 17,2016,meetings were read and Commissioner Nott moved the
minutes to be approved,Commissioner Chapman seconded the motion.All in favor.
Correspondence-No correspondence pending.
Old Business-The conversation around the table was inquiring on the pricing comparison
from the 2013 Sergeant testing to the new quote for the upcoming Sergeant testing.Amy stated
that she has spoken to Commissioner Chapman and has also forwarded the concerns to her
supervisor.She also stated the last testing cycle was a good deal for the Police Department and
not sure they would be able to match it again,but will do everything possible to get a reasonable
quote.Commissioner Nott asked if the same assessment would be used and if so,would that
lower the price?The Commissioner also asked the Chief if that would be okay with him,and the
Chief stated,that it would be fine.The Chief also inquired if some of the questions can be altered
and or changed?Amy will provide feedback to the Chief with regards to the questions.
Commissioner Nott asked about the three (3)assessors that will be used for the
Assessment Center and Amy stated that I/O Solutions can assist in recruiting the assessors.
Commissioner Nott stated that they fee in the quote for assessors was something new as the last
testing cycle,there was no fee for the assessors,besides providing them with breakfast snacks

and lunch.The Chief shared that Commander Novak has participated in many Assessments with
and without pay,but has been provided mileage and a lunch.The Commissioners agreed that
mileage and lunch should be provided to the assessors.
Commissioner Brixey inquired about the price of the books and if the price has gone up
from the last testing cycle.He also expressed that the price is pricey and if there is something
that we can do to assist Officers for the book purchase,as it may allow for more Officers to take
the test.The Commissioners all agreed that the Commission will absorb $75 for each book
purchased and that 110 Solutions will add that fee to the final invoice.Amy stated the price is
now $155 a book and will provide Officer's with a coupon code,if they desire to purchase the
book.
New Business-None
Executive Session-The commissioners moved into Executive Session at 5:37 p.m and
concluded at 6:01 p.m.
Chief Konopek provided an update that the new Police Officers will be graduating the
academy the week of June 30,2016.Both candidates are doing well in the academy.
There being no further business or discussion,Commissioner Nott moved the meeting be
adjourned at 6:03 p.m.
