A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE OF KEY
BISCAYNE, FLORIDA; EXPRESSING SYMPATHY IN
THE DEATH OF CHARLES G. "BEBE" REBOZO;
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Charles Gregory Rebozo was born in Tampa, Florida on November 17, 1912,
the youngest of nine children; and
WHEREAS, "Bebe" Rebozo moved to Key Biscayne more than fifty years ago; and
WHEREAS, in 1964, "Bebe" Rebozo had the vision of opening the first bank on Key
Biscayne, The Key Biscayne Bank & Trust Co.; and
WHEREAS, "Bebe" Rebozo made Key Biscayne known to the world by convincing
President Nixon to establish the Winter White House on the Island; and
WHEREAS, "Bebe" Rebozo was Founding Member and Commodore of the Key Biscayne
Yacht Club in 1961 and Founding Member of the Key Biscayne Chamber of Commerce; and
WHEREAS, "Bebe" Rebozo was an active member of the community during his years on
Key Biscayne.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF KEY
BISCAYNE, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The Mayor and members of the Village Council do hereby express their sympathy
in the death of Charles G. "Bebe" Rebozo to his family and all the citizens of Key Biscayne.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
