AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE
SUBMITTAL, RECEIPT, AND APPROPRIATION OF GRANT FUNDS FROM
THE WAYNE COUNTY FOUNDATION AND THE GANNETT
FOUNDATION FOR THE WIDOWED PERSONS SERVICE OF THE
DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND RECREATION
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation of the City of Richmond, Indiana
has a program known as the " Widowed Persons Service"; and
WHEREAS, said program provides activities and support for widowed persons
throughout the community; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation desires to apply for grants from
the Wayne County Foundation and the Gannett Foundation to support
activities of the Widowed Persons Service.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of
Richmond, Indiana as follows:
1. The Department of Parks and Recreation is hereby authorized to submit grant
applications for the Widowed Persons Service to the Wayne County Foundation and to
Gannet Foundation.
2. The Department of Parks and Recreation is hereby authorized to receive said
grant funds.
3. Grant funds from the Wayne County Foundation shall be appropriated toward
the cost of telephone service for the program and funds from the Gannett Foundation
shall be appropriated towards cost of the newsletter for said program.
Passed and adopted this day of �., 1997, by the Common Council of
the City of Richmond, Indiana.
