AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 70.21 OF THE RICHMOND CITY CODE TO PROVIDE FOR
VIOLATIONS OF INFRACTIONS RATHER THAN VIOLATIONS OF MISDEMEANORS.
WHEREAS: File 36 of the Indiana State Statutes now permits Cities only to enact infractions
of violations rather than ordinance violations and,
WHEREAS: the Common Council deems it necessary to amend section 70.21 of the Richmond
City Code to reflect that fact.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED by Common Council of the City of Richmond, that
Section 70.21 of the Richmond City Code be amended to read as follows:
"It is an infraction for any person to do any act forbidden,
or fail to perform any act required in this traffic code."
