RESOLUTION NO. 2021.015
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD,
COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, APPROVING
THE OFFICIAL CENTENNIAL LOGO AND AN APPROPRIATION TO
SUPPORT ACTIVITIES RELATED TO THE 2021 CENTENNIAL
CELEBRATION
WHEREAS, the year 2021 marks the 100th Anniversary of the City of Lynwood's
incorporation and the City wishes to celebrate its Centennial throughout the year; and
WHEREAS, the costs associated with Centennial celebrations, related
commemorative activities and programming are not included in the City's Fiscal Year
2020/2021 budget; and
WHEREAS, the City of Lynwood has historically approved these types of
community celebrations in order to offer varied, community-building, cultural and family-
oriented programming to its residents; and
WHEREAS, the City of Lynwood wishes to provide multiple events, community
programming opportunities and publicity that commemorates this key City milestone
throughout the 2021 year.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES
HEREBY FIND, PROCLAIM, ORDER AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Council of the City of Lynwood finds and declares that the
foregoing recitals are true and correct, and incorporates said recitals fully into this
Resolution as substantive findings.
Section 2. The City Council of the City of Lynwood hereby designates Images "B"
and "C" (as presented in Attachment #1 of the Agenda Staff Report) as the official City
logos of the City of Lynwood's Centennial commemorations in 2021.
Section 3. The City Council of the City of Lynwood approves the following FY 2020-
21 appropriation to support community Centennial activities, programming and publicity:

Section 4. The City Council of the City of Lynwood further directs staff to provide
considerations for an additional $88,500 appropriation in the FY 2021-22 City budget to
account for the balance of the$150,000 total estimated cost of Centennial activities.
Section 5. The City Council of the City of Lynwood further finds that the requests
serve the important public purpose of providing community activities to Lynwood
residents.
Section 6. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution and hereafter
the same shall be in full force and effect.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 2nd day of February 2021.
