A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL
OF THE VILLAGE OF KEY BISCAYNE,
FLORIDA; RECOGNIZING AUGUST 31 -
SEPTEMBER 7, 1998 AS FIREFIGHTER
APPRECIATION WEEK; PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Muscular Dystrophy Association and Firefighters nationwide have been
partners in the fight against neuromuscular diseases for over four decades; and
WHEREAS, in 1997 Florida Firefighters raised over $900,000 in support of the Muscular
Dystrophy Association's important cause; and
WHEREAS, the Muscular Dystrophy Association is extremely grateful to the Firefighters
of the Village of Key Biscayne; and
WHEREAS, the Muscular Dystrophy Association is sponsoring Village of Key Biscayne Fire
Appreciation Week to be held August 31 - September 7, 1998 in honor of the efforts of the Village
of Key Biscayne Firefighters; and
WHEREAS, it is fitting and appropriate that the Village of Key Biscayne join the Muscular
Dystrophy Association in support of our Firefighters.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE
VILLAGE OF KEY BISCAYNE, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the Village Council of the Village of Key Biscayne hereby recognizes
August 31 - September 7, 1998 as Village of Key Biscayne Firefighter Appreciation Week and
commends its firefighters for their efforts in behalf of the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption
