RESOLUTION NO. 2021.018
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF LYNWOOD, COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES, STATE OF
CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE PLANNING AND HOSTING OF A
VIRTUAL COMMUNITY EVENT ENTITLED 'A CELEBRATION OF
LYNWOOD RESIDENTS WITH SPECIAL NEEDS' ON SUNDAY,
FEBRUARY 28, 2021, AND AUTHORIZING THE USE OF AVAILABLE
FUNDING FOR EVENT COSTS IN A NOT TO EXCEED AMOUNT OF
$5,000.00
WHEREAS, in honor of the key contributions of Lynwood residents with Special
Needs, the Lynwood City Council wishes to authorize the planning and hosting of a
virtual event celebrating their essential contributions to Lynwood; and
WHEREAS, the City of Lynwood has a tradition of recognizing and celebrating its
community with Special Needs that contribute greatly to the progress and development
of our community.
NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES
HEREBY FIND, PROCLAIM, ORDER AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Council of the City of Lynwood finds and declares that the
foregoing recitals are true and correct, and incorporates said recitals fully into this
Resolution as substantive findings.
Section 2. The City Council of the City of Lynwood approves the virtual event "A
Celebration of Lynwood Residents with Special Needs", as presented in the staff report.
Section 3. The City Council further approves use of adopted FY 2020-21 funds
existing within account #1052.60.701.64020 as the funding source for the program's
not-to-exceed cost of $5,000.00 and authorizes the City Manager to direct staff and the
event committee to complete the program as proposed.
Section 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution and hereafter
the same shall be in full force and effect.
