A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
AUTHORIZING A SECOND AMENDMENT TO AN AGREEMENT WITH
MUNISERVICES, LLC TO PROVIDE SALES AND USE, AND
PROPERTY TAX ANALYSIS/AUDIT SERVICES
WHEREAS, the City contracts with MuniServices, LLC to provide sales and
use, and property tax analysis/audit services; and
WHEREAS, MuniServices assists the City in monitoring existing and Measure
PS and Measure RD Transaction and Use Tax revenues which commenced on April
1, 2017; and
WHEREAS, the services provided by MuniServices, LLC enable the City to
audit and forecast new transaction and use tax collections; and
WHEREAS, In October 2019, the City entered into a two-year agreement with
MuniServices, LLC under the City Manager's Purchasing Authority to provide and
conduct ongoing auditing, reporting, monitoring and analyses services of the City's
property tax, sales/use tax and utility user tax revenues; and
WHEREAS, in September 2020, the agreement was amended to increase the
compensation to $25,000 for services provided to the City.
WHEREAS, staff is seeking Council's approval to execute a second
amendment to the agreement to increase the compensation by $25,000, for a not to
exceed amount of $50,000, to cover costs for current and anticipated services to be
paid prior to the end ofthis fiscal year.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD HEREBY
RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the Mayor is authorized to executed the second amendment to
the agreement with MuniServices, LLC to increase the compensation for sales and
use, and property tax analysis/audit services to the City.
Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED THIS 1st DAY OF JUNE 2021.
