The meeting was presided over by Mayor M. J. Counihan and the following councilmen were present: Jack Daniels, Edward Jung, Robert F. Cary,EdWard Towns and James Stettler. Councilman George Schwarz was absent. Councilman Daniels stated that he felt Council had been misled as to the type of music to be presented at this festival. He said that from what he could understand several of the groups were hard rock and that they would naturally draw an undesirable group to the beach. Councilman Towns stated that he, too, had heard that some of the groups scheduled to appear were of the type that would draw an undesirable element to the beach. He also felt that the rest room facilities were inadequate for the large crowd that was expected, and, further, that this project was a direct violation of our zoning ordinance. Based on this, Councilman Towns moved that permission to hold this music festival be withdrawn. The motion was seconded by Councilman Daniels and unanimously carried. There being no further business the meeting adjourned to the next regular or special called meeting. CLERK OF COUNCIL v f! MA OR YV 71 72 1 1 1
