30 FREE Workshops: One Interactive, Fun, and Informative Weekend!
Plainfield, IL -- Expand your world this fall by learning something new during Plainfield’s How-To Fair, November
12. In one interactive, fun, and informative day, you can engage in over 30 free and different “how-to
workshops!” Taught by local experts and business owners, learning opportunities range from home repair to
exercise; from preparing quick, healthy meals to making greeting cards; and from planning your perfect Disney
vacation to making the most of your mobile phone apps. Registration for the Fair is now open, so be sure to
visit howtofairplainfield.com for a complete list of workshops! There is something for everyone!
The How-To Fair has all the latest trends covered - Essential Oils are all the rage and you can learn how to use
them in your daily life at the How-To Fair. Plus, we’re offering workshops on How To Cut the Cable Cord and the
latest food trends. We’ve also added classes for kids this year – learn tips and tricks on how to be safe around
dogs and how to perform cool magic tricks.
For all of you home cooks or aspiring home cooks, attend the Fair to learn how to make quick and healthy
recipes, brew a great cup of coffee, and prepare the perfect cheese plate. If crafts are your passion, get help
with your painting skills, learn to make bows for your holiday gifts, or learn how to knit.
Do you need help with your tech skills? You’ll find it at the fair – you can learn how to build your own web site
in under an hour, how to digitally organize and store your photos, or how to simplify your life with phone apps.
Social media usage continues to grow and at the How-To Fair you can learn how to build your social media
presence online, how to use social media to search for your ancestors, and how to use social media for your
small business.

The How-To Fair is flexible to fit everyone’s schedule. Each workshop is 45 minutes, so join us for 1, 5, or 7
sessions; whatever your interest and schedule allows. All of the workshops are conveniently located in
Downtown Plainfield at one of three locations: Village Hall, 24401 W. Lockport Street; Plainfield Public Library,
15025 S. Illinois Street; and the Plainfield Township Community Center, 15014 S. DesPlaines Street.
Before or after your workshops, be sure to have lunch at one of the Food Trucks that are participating in the
How-To Fair. The Grumpy Gaucho will be at the Plainfield Library, Chicago Dawg’s will be at Village Hall, and
Cocos Tacos will be at the Plainfield Township Community Center.
This event is hosted by the Village of Plainfield, the Plainfield Public Library, and the Plainfield Park District.
