AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF TEMPLE CITY AMENDING SECTION 82 -3
OF THE ELECTRICAL CODE RELATING TO RADIO
CONTROLLED RELAYS ON PRIVATELY OWNED AIR
CONDITIONING EQUIPMENT INSTALLED BY
SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA EDISON COMPANY
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY DOES ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:
7305.. WORK REQUIRING A PERMIT - RADIO- CONTROLLED RELAYS
W 'gZI 1/. Section 82 -3 of the Electrical Code is amended by
adding subsection (j) to read as follows:
(j) The installation by Southern California Edison
Company of radio - controlled relays on privately -owned air
conditioning equipment in the company's pilot program of
energy conservation through electrical load management,
entitled "Air Conditioner Cycling Program" provided that:
(1) the relays shall be tested and labeled
by Underwriters' Laboratories, Inc.;
(2) the Chief Electrical Inspector shall
approve of specifications for the in-
stallation of the relays; and
(3) the relays shall be installed and
maintained by Southern California
Edison Company or its contractors.
SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
this Ordinance and shall cause the same to be processed in the
manner prescribed by law.

hereby certify that the foregoing Ordinance, being Ordinance No.
84 -547, was introduced at a regular meeting of the City Council
of the City of Temple City held on the 3rd day of April, 1984,
and was duly passed, approved, and adopted by said Council, approved
and signed by the Mayor and attested by the City Clerk, at a regular
meeting of the said City Council held on the 17tz day of April, 1984,
by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmen- Atkins, Dennis, Gillanders, Tyrell, Swain
NOES: Councilmen -None
ABSENT: Councilmen -None
