McCall Public Library Board of Trustees Meeting
Wed., Oct. 17, 2012
Conference Room - 4:00 PM
Call to order : 4:05 pm
Attendance : Ed Hershberger, Nancy Butler, Jamie Bell, Anne Kantola, Jacki Rubin, and Lynn Lewinski.
Minutes : Anne needs to locate and present at the next meeting.
Director's Report :
Budget and Stats : Will wait for Linda to send after she has settled the report from her new
program.
Staff : Anne is processing possibilities for library hours, staffing and programs to cover Arliss
leaving and future needs.
Friend's Report : The Friends are desperately in need of fresh new members to continue this exemplary
support for the library and community. Lynn will contact the school district to put out work for help. We
will use Anne and the library as contacts.
Old Business :
Member Replacement Letters to be reviewed at our next meeting.
New Hire: Discussion of skills desired in the open position. Twenty-one applicants have applied
at this time. It is a great place to work and Anne will be at odds deciding.
Arliss: Retired after her vacation, seems to be happy.
Schedule: Discussed above, clarification needed with positions.
New Business :
Yearly evaluations: Anne is starting staff reviews early to help clarify positions and duties.
Loose ends: The Lizard Butte Library has been able to pursue e book possibilities to the point of
being affordable, or at least discussed. We have wanted to offer this service and will look into the
details. If, and when we do offer e books, staff will) have to be trained and this will be added into the job
descriptions.
The last of the shelving is due to come in and will be put in place. This completes an
on -going 5 year project. It has added to the library in many ways and patrons have made positive
feedback.
A hard copy of the up -dated Policy Manual is available in Armes' office.
