McCall Public Library Board of Trustees Meeting
Thur., July 12, 2012
Idaho Room, 10:00 AM
Change of venue and date
Call to order : 10 am
Attendance : Lynn Lewinski, Ed Hershberger, Jacki Rubin, Jamie Bell, Anne Kantola and Nancy Butler.
Minutes : Approved as presented.
Director's Report :
Budget and Stats : Look Fine. The positive balance for the movies will be adjusted to its own line
item in the future for next year's budget. This has become a successful venture.
Staff : All doing well and staying busy. The Community Reading program came to visit and learn
more about the library. Our summer programs keep the library full with another record enrollment.
Anne found a great value purchasing some new chairs for the front desk. Staff loves the "support".
Friend's Report : No formal report as no current meetings. We discussed some projects that the Friends
may help us with in the future.
Old Business:
Policy manual: Robyn has been able to compile two different sections that The Board and Staff
can review and comment on. We need to make sure a clause is added for all guests at inappropriate
sites.

Computer:
Book Bags: Trial samples have been received .
Shelving: There is one more section of shelving needed to complete the building. It is such a'
lovely addition to the library. The old shelving is well used in different ways, for special collections and
the Friends sorting.
Budget status: The Library budget is approximately the same as it was last year, plus or minus
shelving and building needs.
New Business :
Summer Reading Plans: This year has had great planning for crowd movement, even though it is
a stressful day for staff. So many participants!
Meeting times: Will try to stay with a morning meeting as long as possible.
Discussion about future: The Library Board agreed unanimously that we have no interest in a
district. We will continue to promote a new building on a city campus in our same downtown location.
Loose ends: Anne will check into the building' paint schedule, while Lynn will check into color
selections.
A question to the Council about the new City Manager prospects, is whether someone will visit
their cities, assuming the prospects come from a city position.

Our next meeting is scheduled for Aug. 9th, 2012, at 10:00 AM.
