Motion by Nielsen second by Meints to approve the agenda. All ayes, carried. Motion by Nielsen second by James to approve the Minutes of the March meeting. All ayes, carried. Motion by Lindaman second by Van Heiden to approve the treasurer’s report for March. All ayes, carried. Motion by James second by Nielsen to approve the following bills for payment. Recommend replacing hydraulic pump with new instead of a rebuilding the pump. This is dependent on reduced labor costs. Leon will discuss with mayor after getting further information. Discussion of storm sewer problems on Washington St. Leon will check with Municipal Pipe and Tool about costs. City Clerk will check into the possibility of a storm sewer utility to cover future repairs. Glenda Okones, Marlys Breneman and Todd Rempe voiced concerns regarding the Library Board decision to decline the offer of the building purchased by the Ostfriesian Heritage Society and concerns over the possible loss of the German Heritage collection. Mayor Fox and the council felt that it was time to hold a joint special meeting with the Library Board. The meeting is scheduled for April 26, at 7:00 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Fire Station. Ann Berry presented information regarding the continuing problems with rusty water. The City will allow open burning of yard waste April 12th through April 25, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Motion by Van Heiden 2nd Lindaman to approve contributing $3000.00 toward the sign project. Vincel will check into lighting. All ayes, carried. Motion by Meints second Van Heiden to approve building permits for Mike Norris and Greg Winger. All ayes, carried Motion by Nielsen second by Van Heiden to approve Fire Contract for Melrose Township. All ayes, carried. Motion by Nielsen second by Van Heiden to approve hiring Sara Winkowitsch as swimming pool manager. Salary to be $800.00 per month. All ayes, carried. Motion by Meints second by Lindaman to adjourn.
