Board Meeting
September 18, 1997
4.00p.m.
I: Call To Order:
II. Attendance: Marilyn Summers, Mary Clemmer, Tracy
Susie Reddick.
III. Minutes: Read and approved.
IV. Bills: Approved.
V. Staff Report: Circulation up and down.
VII. Old Business:
A. Carpet Cleaning. Carpet was cleaned in August.
B. Gino Sky. We do workshop for children
September 20th and reading for
friends that evening to kick off
the annual Friends Membership
drive.
C. Summer Reading.Really went well.
D. Summer Play. Everyone had a great
time/Nathan Sargent was the
director.
VII. New Business:
A. Fritz Frederick. A story teller gave a workshop
on the 12th and 13th of
September at the library for
adults.

B. Susan B Anthony/AAUW. AAUW will co-sponsor
a one-woman show at the
library performed by Melinda
Strobel.
C. WICAP/First Book/Friends. Friends will help with
a new program to reach children
not being exposed to books.
This is made possible through
a PTV grant.
D. Budget. Gloria discussed the budget
shortfall that the library faced
this summer and how the City
Council found the funds to
meet the requested 1997/98
budget.
4.9 E. Friends/19th/funds. Gloria is asking the friends
for money to purchase a rug,
globe and wooden puzzles for
the children's section.
F. Vacancy. Their is an opening on Library
Board and Gloria has notified the
newspaper.
G. Vacation. Becky will be gone next week and
Gloria the following.
H. Evaluation. Gloria reminded the Board it is
time for her evaluation.
